Therapeutic Approach

Holly2.jpg

My therapeutic approach is grounded in a Feminist orientation and theories of embodiment that interweave the body's wisdom alongside the cultural forces that shape our understanding of bodies, health and self-care practice. I aim to guide clients toward understanding their relationship with food and the cultural messages (i.e., diet culture) that disrupt our connection and attunement to their body's unique needs. Although nutrition is vital to well-being, I incorporate a holistic approach to self-care that includes bodily, emotional, and relational needs. I firmly believe in the power of attuned physical activity, allowing us to experience joy, agency, and freedom in our bodies.

I provide a compassionate, non-judgmental, safe space for individuals to understand their values and explore their challenges with food and their bodies. My approach to disordered eating incorporates self-care and emotional regulation practices that shift clients toward body appreciation and attuned nourishment. I believe that healing from an eating disorder is not a linear process and that there is not one "right" way to recover. Recovery and healing are a lifelong journey.
